About
About Kara and Flight Attendant Central
Flight Attendant Central helps aspiring cabin crew prepare for the recruitment of the major airlines in the Middle East: Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad. It was started in 2011 by Kara, a former purser with seven years of flying for one of the largest airlines in the region, and has since helped more than 70,000 candidates through its guides, books and recruitment updates.
Everything on this site comes from two sources: first-hand experience of the job and its recruitment, and the airlines' own official careers pages for dates and requirements. We never guess a date or a requirement, and we never promise a job: our role is to help you arrive prepared.

My story
The roadmap I wished I had
My passion for seeing my aviation dream come true turned into an obsession to become the best candidate.
I worked hard to overcome my limiting beliefs about who I was and how I was perceived. I studied the people who were effortlessly elegant and graceful and rehearsed how to move like them in front of the mirror. Pretending that the customers I approached in my previous jobs were my customers on the plane, I asked myself, "If I were already a flight attendant, how would I behave? What would I say? How would I smile?"
I spent years polishing my language skills, my customer service expertise, and how I presented myself in front of others.
When I finally showed up for my cabin crew interview, there was no doubt that I was the best fit for the job, and it was the best fit for me.
What I created here on this website is the roadmap I wished I had when I was a candidate looking for clarity and direction.

What my readers are saying
"I continued attending the Open Days, and I've been turned down but I didn't give up. With the help of your books, I became stronger and believed in myself that one day I will be living my dream, and guess what, I joined Qatar airways a month ago even though I got rejected more than 5 times. You have contributed so much in my life I must say, thank you a million times Kara."
"I almost gave up when I was rejected the second time I applied but then I knew this job is really for me. I searched the internet for a good book. I found your book available on Amazon and got it. It was worth it! I read it for 2 months. So when I applied for the 3rd time it really helped throughout the process. I waited for almost for 4 months to get my date of joining. Thank you Kara for helping me. You’re part of my success!"
